Fix the company summary
The line starting with ">" under the name is the most important sentence in the file. Say plainly what you do, for whom and where.
Remove pages you do not need
The generator picks pages automatically. Drop the ones that say nothing about your business and add missing services.
Keep the Optional section
The name "Optional" has a special meaning in llms.txt: links AI can skip when it needs a shorter context.
What is llms.txt.
llms.txt is a plain Markdown text file in your site root. It contains your company name, a short summary and a list of key pages with one-line descriptions. It is meant to help language models quickly understand what a site is about and where to find details.
The format was proposed in 2024 at llmstxt.org. It is a proposal, not an official standard, so there is no guarantee a given AI tool will read it. Creating the file takes a few minutes, though, and a clearly described offer helps when you work on the site itself too.

Where do I upload llms.txt?
To your site root, so it is available at yourdomain.com/llms.txt. On WordPress you can use FTP or your hosting file manager. On some store platforms you need to ask the provider.
Will llms.txt improve my Google rankings?
There is no evidence for that. llms.txt is not a Google ranking factor. Treat it as a convenience for AI tools, not a way to rank higher.
How is llms.txt different from robots.txt?
robots.txt tells bots where they may go. llms.txt blocks nothing, it describes the site and points to key content. If robots.txt blocks AI bots, llms.txt will not help much.
How often should I update llms.txt?
When your offer changes, important pages are added or your company description changes. In practice, a look every few months is enough.
Does the generator store my data?
No. The tool reads public pages, builds a draft and sends it back to your browser. Nothing is stored.
